Al Moutmir Community of Practice on Livestock | Science, Technology & Innovation Driving Sustainable Animal Production
On April 10th in Marrakech, Al Moutmir held its very first Community of Practice dedicated to animal productions — a unique collaborative space bringing together over 60 participants: farmers, cooperatives, experts from public and private sectors, researchers, agronomists, input and technology providers, and media professionals.
This inaugural community of practice highlighted the key role of science, technology, and innovation in building healthy and productive livestock systems — essential for ensuring food security and promoting sustainable agriculture.
Key priorities shared & discussed:
→ Spreading knowledge and best practices to boost productivity and animal welfare.
→ Leveraging collective intelligence to co-design innovative responses to sector challenges.
→ Supporting the adoption of sustainable and locally adapted solutions.
→ Strengthening synergies between all actors across the value chain.
This event also provided a great opportunity to explore how ecosystems like UM6P - University Mohammed VI Polytechnic can foster research, capacity-building, and innovation to empower the livestock sector.
A big thank you to all participants, partners, and speakers for their engagement and insightful contributions. Together, we are shaping a more resilient and sustainable future for animal productions.
